Amber's Hulless Oats (Avena sativa) Seeds
a packet contains 1 tsp, about 100 seeds. This is not enough to grow a substantial amount of oats, so plan on growing out for a year to expand your seed stock.
A easy threshing variety for home production, this variety threshes out well using a simple bucket thresher. This variety was originally selected by Joseph Lofthouse, these seeds have been grown out for a few generations at Edgewood Nursery, so some degree of re-selection has happened. Sow in early spring in rows 12” apart, with 2-6” between seeds in the row. Full sun and well drained soil will produce best.
