Bloody Dock (Rumex sanguineus) Seed Packet or Plant

from $3.00

1 Packet of ~200 Seeds OR 1 small, but well established plant.

This striking relative of Sorrel has a similar flavor and habit but with striking red veins on the leaves. The downside is that the leaves of bloody dock toughen through the season and become less tasty then sorrel.

Sow in spring, barely covering seeds. Starting in pots is probably preferable due to small seed size, but these plants are quick to start and tough as nails, so direct sowing is also a option.

Bloody Dock is vigorous and easy to grow in full sun to part shade in most soil, thrives in damp soil near water. Easily self sows, so deadheading is advisable. Because of possible weed potential, do not abandon.
