Seed Packet contains 25 seeds.

This exceptional tree came to me from Oikos Tree crops by way of Perfect Circle Farm. Their likely background is (Castanea mollissima X C. seguinii ) X C. dentata. Started bearing at only 6 years and bore over 10lbs in year 7. We got a very high percentage of filled nuts (90-95%), many nuts per bur (lots of 6s and few 7s) and overall high production on this orchard form tree. Nuts are small to medium size, tasty and peel very easily.

Chestnut seed should be kept refrigerated, but not frozen and checked occasionally for mold and germination. If you have a root cellar, bulkhead or similar cold-but-not-frozen area, you can sow the seed right away and store the seeded containers.
