'Italian Flat Leaf' Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) and Dill (Anethum graveolens) Seeds
'Italian Flat Leaf' Parsley (Petroselinum crispum)
a packet contains 1/4 tsp, about 400 seeds. Bulk Packet contains 1 TBS about 4,800 seeds.
Pretty typical Italian style Parsley, very vigorous, good flavor. 100% of plants overwintered successfully. Parsley is a familiar culinary herb for lots of people and their place in the kitchen is well deserved. However I think the 2nd year flowers are under rated, not only are they quite pretty (especially for adding texture to arrangements) but they are absolute magnets for beneficial wasps and other pollinators. So if you have the space to let your parsley go a second season, I recommend letting at least some of your plants finish their life cycle, you likely won’t regret it, plus you can save the seeds and expect volunteers.
Dill (Anethum graveolens)
A packet contains ½ tsp, about 320 seeds.
Another common culinary herb in the Apiaceae. These annuals grow quickly to 3’ tall with elegant umbel shaped flowers, which are very attractive to pollinators. Harvest early for best quality leaves for cooking, but flowers and seed heads are great to cook with as well. Easily direct sown in spring, but fine to start in pots if your prefer.
