Wangrangkura / Korean Eleuthero (Eleutherococcus sessiliflorus) Seeds

$6.00

Packet contains ½ teaspoon of fresh, never dried seed, count coming soon!

This Asian shrub grows similarly to Elderberry. While the young leaves are edible as cooked vegetable this plant is most commonly used as a medicine, most frequently the root bark is used in Korean herbalism. Other uses include making a tea from the leaves and using the bark as a flavoring for wine. They grow well in damp soils, but will tollerate medium soils just fine. Likes sun, especially when getting established, but tolerates part-shade. Some sources recommend prolonged warm stratification before 30 days of cold stratification… but I have had pretty good results from sowing fresh seeds in fall or winter outdoors. If you don’t get germination in spring #1 there is a decent chance you’ll get it if you leave the seeds in soil for an additional year.
