Opopeo grows large quickly, offering edible greens at younger stages and a grain crop when plants mature in October (in Maine), you will need a space to hang the large seed heads to dry, but the seeds are quite abundant, I got more then a pint of cleaned seed per plant (at wide spacing). May need support in loose soils. Starting seeds indoors or in a hoop house before the frost will give you a edge in short season areas.
