Switch Grass is a native, clumping perennial grass. They grow to be 3-6’ tall depending on conditions. The bright, shiny foliage and delicate seed heads are suitable for ornamental and ecological landscapes alike. Probably the most common native grass in ornamental landscaping. Clumping grasses not only fill roles in ornamental landscape designs, but they also create habitat niches that aren't filled by forbs. Switch grass tolerates both drought and flooding, making them a low-maintenance option for many full sun and part shade settings, including meadows and rain gardens.
