Small Plants are one year old single plants, well established. Bare Root.

Large Plants are 2-3 yearsold. Bare root.

Packet contains >600 seeds. Bulk packet is a tablespoon ~9,000 seeds.

These are local ecotype seeds grown at Edgewood Nursery, original stock came from a wild population in Cumberland, Maine.

This beautiful medicinal herb is native to eastern North America and is well suited to pollinator gardens and ecological restoration as well as the medicine garden. Zone 3 hardy. Prefers damp sites in full sun to part shade, but very adaptable. Self-sows, so deadhead if you don’t want them to spread. Maine native.

Seeds should be sown in fall or winter or artificially cold stratified for 60+ days before sowing. Seeds should be surface sown, as they are quite small. Starting in pots is probably preferable due to small seed size. For more info on stratification click here
