These are both local ecotype seeds grown at Edgewood Nursery, the original seed stocks came from wild populations in Maine.

Beachhead Iris (Iris hookeri) - Packet contains ~60 seeds

This beautiful dwarf (8-12” tall) Iris is endemic to eastern Maine/Canadian maritimes and in the wild only grows along the immediate coast. They make an excellent border in flower beds. In cultivation they do well in medium to damp well drained soil in full sun to part shade. Sow outdoors in fall or winter or provide 90+ days of cold damp stratification.

Blue-Flag Iris (Iris versacolor) - Packet contains ~50 seeds.

This is a more standard native Iris for Maine, often seen thriving in the edge of swamp or roadside ditch, they also do well in a flower garden where they will grow in wet to medium soils in full sun to part shade. Sow outdoors in fall or winter or provide 120+ days of cold damp stratification.
