Tall Thimbleweed (Anemone virginiana) Seed Packet
Seed packet contains a generous pinch of seeds, still with a fair amount of fluff attached, probably 100+ seeds. These are local ecotype seeds grown at Edgewood Nursery.
This hardy and adaptable perennial wildflower grows easily on any well drained soil in a wide variety of conditions from sun to shade. The white flowers give way to a thimble shaped seed head which eventually poofs into a cloud of fluffy seeds. In my garden they have spread slowly, but they can be somewhat rambunctious in other conditions, so give some space and don’t pair with delicate species.
Sow seeds in fall or winter or give 60+ days of cold, damp stratification. for more info on stratification click here
