White Snakeroot (Ageratina altissima) Seeds or Plants
Medium clumping, herbaceous perennial with white flowers in mid-summer. Attracts several pollinators. The whole plant is rather toxic, not a good choice around pastures. Their ability to tolerate poor conditions, fast growth habit and capacity to self-sow probably make them a good choice for restoring damaged sites and/or guerilla gardening. Native to Maine, Maine ecotype. Packet contains 1/4tsp, ~800 seeds.
These are local ecotype seeds/plants grown at Edgewood Nursery, original seed stock came from the Wild Seed Project
Thrives in part-shade, tolerates fairly dense shade. Does fine in a wide variety of soils. Surface sow outdoors in fall or winter or provide 60+ days cold stratification. Click here for details.
